This Friday, July 14, it was learned that the four brothers who were rescued, in the Amazon jungle, by the indigenous communities and the Military Forces, were discharged after spending more than a month receiving medical attention at the Bogota Military Hospital. .

“Research has certain rhythms that we must respect. From the Icbf we are accompanying the defender so that she has a very solid interdisciplinary team that includes anthropologists, who contribute to the restoration and guarantee of children’s rights. The three girls and the boy will be under our care and we will make sure that they are well so that they return to their family environment as soon as possible, as long as their rights are guaranteed”, specified the director of the Icbf.
In this sense, the ethnic affairs team of the Family Ombudsman will have up to six months to make a decision on the process and thus, finally, be able to determine who should take care of these little ones, who lost their mother after the plane crash in which they traveled; The event occurred between the virgin jungle of Caquetá and Guaviare on May 1.
After learning of the decision of the Icbf and the Family Ombudsman, SEMANA spoke with Fidencio Valencia, great-uncle of the four children, who assured that they were not opposed to the measure, because they did not have the support or sufficient financial resources to have minors in decent living conditions.

It is worth noting that the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare asked Miller Manuel Ranoque (biological father of two of the children), his family members and close and interested people to appear at the beginning of the process to restore the rights of the minor. one year old, rescued along with her three brothers. And so, successively, it will be done with the other three children.
To safeguard the integrity of the minors, the director of the Icbf assured that no details of their location will be known, but SEMANA had access to the first images of the minors enjoying games, painting happily and in the company of two professionals arranged by the entity. The images are really moving.
“The boys are very well, as are the girls who are very smiling, very happy to share a new space, to leave the hospital,” said director Cáceres.

Through the ‘Miracle’ operation, the discovery of the four children was confirmed at night, this after they had been missing since May 1. The Army officer, Pedro Sánchez, who was leading the search operation, revealed more details of what was the intensive search for the minors.
