Rescuer died after falling from about 10 meters in Mérida cable car

Apparently he was cleaning some windows when he lost his balance.

While cleaning a window in the Mukumbarí Cable Car System in Mérida, a rescuer fell from regarding 10 meters and died.

According to what was published by Mérida Noticia, the man was identified as Jesús Omar López Pérez, 53 years old, who was known as “Chuy” and was well liked in the area.

He was also the coordinator 1 in Mérida Civil Protection, he was stationed in the Mukumbarí, he died at the University Hospital of Los Andes, several hours following his admission.

Apparently the man lost his balance and fell, his colleagues took him in a private vehicle to the care center.

The cause of death was generalized polytrauma.

Officials assigned to the Coordination of Investigations of Crimes Against Persons of the Cicpc Mérida initiated the investigations.
