A survey carried out by VTrends, Vivo’s research and insights hub, carried out a survey on Brazilians’ relationship with technology and found that, for 66% of respondents, technology will continue to be an important tool for connecting with people in the next year , pointing to strong expectations for the sector in 2024.

Proof that innovation will continue to rise is that 56% believe that new tools will emerge that will change the way we interact with the world and another 41% think it is likely that connection and technology will help reduce inequalities, giving more access to education, health and professional opportunities.

The survey also wanted to understand how Brazilians use their time most when it comes to applications. According to the participants, 80% usually access WhatsApp daily, followed by the use of Instagram, which appears with 63% and, in third place, Facebook with 52% of preference, indicating the strong interest in social networks.

According to information released by the company responsible for WhatsApp, Brazil is the country that sends the most audio messages in the world and the third in volume of users, behind India and Indonesia. Even though Brazilians use other platforms to exchange messages, the Meta platform stands out for its popularity in the national market.

According to numbers from Statista, 147 million people use WhatsApp in Brazil, which corresponds to 99% of Brazilians online, making it the application’s second largest market in the world, behind only India.
