Resilience has become a buzzword in times of multiple crises. We should learn it in training, strengthen it through reading and, thanks to it, act balanced and confident in exceptional situations. It is sometimes called “psychological resilience,” but there is no clear definition. If you ask scientist Donya Gilan, who works at the Leibniz Institute for Resilience Research in Mainz, she answers: “Resilience is a dynamic process.” If you ask the author Barbara Pachl-Eberhart, she says: “Resilience is an attitude.”
