Restaurant Jansz. Amsterdam: delicious fine dining dishes!
If you like Restaurant Jansz. When you walk in, you immediately feel a little special. The impressive hall, the cordial staff who take your coat: we are going to be pampered tonight! The decor is a nice balance between modern and classic. Nice and light through the many windows, atmospheric lighting, cool marble tables: we love this! We start with a glass of bubbles and some sourdough bread, and see what Jansz. has in store for us tonight.

We start with the pulpo with fennel, orange and madame jeanette oil. Prepared in a surprising way, because the pulpo is cooked and then carpaccio cut. An exciting dish, especially because of the refreshing citrus and a subtle kick from the madame jeanette. Our favorite starter is the burrata: an elegant plate made with peach, small tacos and corn. A delicious combination that really brings out the flavors of the fresh ingredients!
Rack of lamb with candied potato
Moving on to the main course, we enjoyed the fish of the day: sea bream with barley risotto, glazed with Japanese whisky. Delicious juicy fish, perfectly prepared, a subtle sauce and a nice bite of the risotto: really tasty! The rack of lamb with confit potato, chimichurri and bok choy was another favourite. Wonderfully warm flavours! If you are a big eater, it is definitely recommended to have a side dish with this main course. For example, we ate the asparagus with a fantastic chunky hollandaise sauce, and there are also delicious fries or mashed potatoes on the menu.

Do you like a nice sweet dessert? Then be sure to try the homemade peach pie with thyme sauce, honey ice cream and a delicious nut crumble. And the most surprising dessert in our opinion was definitely the granny smith parfait! A picture to see, and surprising taste because of the apple infused with ginger beer and a subtle thyme-lemon sauce. A really refreshing end to our evening!
Restaurant Jansz. Amsterdam has once again spoiled us with delicious subtle dishes, with the best seasonal ingredients and innovative flavor combinations. Together with the attentive staff and the nice atmosphere, this really made a wonderful evening.
