Restrictions on sale of gold jewelery eased in Kuwait

The Ministry of Commerce has relaxed the restrictions imposed on the sale of gold jewelery in Kuwait. The time limit for putting hole marking stamps on gold jewelery has been extended till May 30.

The Ministry of Commerce has announced that gold jewelery with old hole marking seals will be allowed to be sold and displayed in Kuwait subject to restrictions until May 30.

According to the revised decision, the ministry has directed that the complete details of gold jewelery with old hole marking seals should be recorded in the jewelery and consumer data register.

The authorities have also clarified that a notice containing the appointment information for sealing the remaining ornaments should be displayed in front of the shop. A ban was imposed on the sale of old sealed gold jewelery in the country from January 1.
