A poorly understood disease

This figure increases every year and Florida is specifically concerned. And the disease is almost endemic to these States, since the majority of infections are caught locally and not after a trip to a country where it is present.
The increase in infections could be caused by the lack of information about this disease. A second bacterium, discovered in 2008, is thought to be responsible for this disease. This complicates the work of researchers, especially since transmission from animals to humans cannot be excluded.
