The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce said on Sunday that retail prices in the country’s largest city jumped about 11.36 percent on a monthly basis in April and 79.97 percent on an annual basis. Reflecting the continuing repercussions of the currency crisis that began late last year.
The city’s wholesale prices rose 5.33 percent on a monthly basis and 73.21 percent on an annual basis, according to the Chamber of Commerce. Istanbul’s population represents nearly a fifth of Turkey’s 85 million people. (Archyde.com)
