One would think that fans would be delighted to get a proper new installment in the The Secret of Monkey Island franchise, but unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case. There were a lot of complaints about the art direction and story before the game was released, and director (and franchise creator) Ron Gilbert eventually stopped talking about the game because of all the toxic comments. Finally, the game was released, luckily offering everything we could have asked for, and now it’s time for more people to enjoy this instant classic, as Return to Monkey Island launches on Android and iOS on July 27th. Also, keep in mind that this isn’t the only Monkey Island-related perk we’re getting this summer, as the free Sea of Thieves expansion Tales of Monkey Island launches July 20 on PC and Xbox. Pirate lovers also expect a lot!
