Netflix announced that it expects to launch its subscription plan with ads in early 2023 in a handful of countries, but did not specify which ones. The confirmation appears following the platform announced that it will charge for sharing the account, something that led to multiple complaints and new subscription cancellations. “We will probably start in a handful of markets where ad spending is significant. Like most of our new initiatives, our intention is to implement it, listen and learn, and quickly iterate to improve the offering. So our business in a few years will likely look very different than it did on day one,” the company said in a letter to investors reported by Deadline.
