The end of work on the works started on Boulevard Clovis in Brussels is scheduled for April 30, assured the city’s alderman for Urban Planning and Public Works, Anaïs Maes (Vooruit.brussels), Monday evening during the municipal council. .
Infrastructure work has been underway for years in the “Quartier des Squares”. In 2020, infrastructure manager Infrabel had to renovate the railway tunnel under Clovis Boulevard, which required demolishing the street.
The City of Brussels saw the opportunity to rebuild the artery into a modern street with green areas connected by a green and inclusive promenade with dozens of trees and benches. According to the former alderman in charge, Ans Persoons (Vooruit.brussels), the place was intended to become “a place of meeting, relaxation and play”.
The reconstruction budget amounts to approximately 2.3 million euros. The work is scheduled to end on April 30, following which Clovis Boulevard will be officially inaugurated at the end of May.
