Driss Jabar: It is an honor to be recognized as the best logistics CEO in 2023, a distinction that reflects not only my personal commitment, but above all the innovation and hard work of the entire CloudFret team. Since its creation, CloudFret has set itself the mission of revolutionizing the logistics sector not only in Morocco, but in Africa and Europe as well, by using technology to make freight transport more efficient, transparent and accessible. Our solutions use artificial intelligence (AI) to detect and optimize empty trucks, and thus reduce transport costs and pollution.
FNH: What was the catalyst behind the creation of CloudFret in 2021, a platform aimed at connecting shippers and carriers?
DJ: The driving force behind the creation of CloudFret was the recognition of persistent inefficiencies in the logistics sector. These are characterized by a lack of transparency, high costs and a very fragmented and inefficient market with more than 30% of transport resources unexploited. We identified an opportunity to provide a technological solution that could not only address these challenges, but also anticipate future market needs. By intelligently connecting shippers and carriers through our platform, we facilitate better resource allocation, reduced costs for shippers and increased utilization rates for carriers, contributing to a greener, more sustainable economy. effective.

DJ: Our approach is based on the integration of advanced digital solutions, adapted to the specificities of the freight market. We pride ourselves on using innovative technologies to analyze market trends and optimize logistics processes. Our platform facilitates effective matching between supply and demand, helping to reduce empty trucks and significantly improve operational efficiency. Although we are constantly exploring technological advancements, including in the field of AI, to further optimize our services, our current focus is on offering tailored digital solutions that enable our clients to improve their logistics planning. This includes the development of tools for route evaluation and optimization, as well as more efficient resource management. Our goal is to provide services that precisely meet current market needs while envisioning future innovations that will continue to transform the logistics industry.
FNH: Over the years, logistics has become a major issue for establishing national sovereignty and improving competitiveness. What is your view on this?
DJ: Logistics is indeed an essential pillar for strengthening national sovereignty and economic competitiveness. A robust and efficient logistics infrastructure not only ensures security of supplies, but also positions a country as a strategic trade hub regionally and globally. My vision is that, through technological innovation, we can overcome historic logistics challenges in the region, strengthen local capabilities and actively contribute to economic development.
