RHI Magnesita gets new major shareholder

Ignite Luxembourg Holding, which is indirectly controlled by a Rhône fund (Rhône Holdings VI), is aiming for a 29.9 percent stake and has already secured almost 20 percent, the company announced on Tuesday. The offer for the RHI Magnesita shares was already announced at the end of May. Bids are 28.5 British pounds (33.24 euros) per title. The acceptance period ends on July 21.

The imagination has fueled the share price. When the offer became known on May 30, the shares of RHI Magnesita had shot up by 20.8 percent to EUR 29.00 per share. On Tuesday, the stock exchange price in Vienna rose by 7.4 percent to EUR 33.50 and was EUR 30.00 (+5.8 percent) in the followingnoon. The market cap is £1.33 billion.

Originally, Ignite Luxembourg made an offer for 20 percent of the RHI Magnesita shares. Now the target is 29.9 percent. From 30 percent, a takeover bid would be due.

The bid applies to a total of 14,086,156 shares and is therefore worth EUR 401.5 million. Ignite Luxembourg already has 9,187,275 shares in its pocket, which corresponds to around 19.5 percent, according to the current status.
