The Brazilian star Richarlison described his first participation in the Champions League as one of the best days of his life, after he scored his first two goals with his team, Tottenham Hotspur, against Marseille, France, in the match that ended 2-0 yesterday, Wednesday.
The Brazilian international opened the scoring in the 76th minute, in the match in Group D, after Chancel Mbemba of Marseille was sent off.
Five minutes later, Richarlison, who came from Everton in the summer transfer market this season, scored the second goal, to win his team in his first match in the championship for the second time in the history of his participation in it.
“After I heard the Champions League anthem, I started smiling, this was a dream when I was a child,” the Brazilian player said on the Instagram photo-sharing platform, and attached his post to a photo of him with his father in his childhood and youth years.
He added, “To be here and listen to the anthem and play the game, it was emotional for me, and I was rewarded by scoring two goals to help my teammates.”
“The whole team helped me a lot, I am very happy this is one of the best days of my life with my parents and family on the field here.”
He explained, “My father was here on the field, he has been by my side all my career and helped me a lot to turn my dreams into reality.”
Tottenham beat Marseille 2-0 in the first round of Group D, which also includes the German team Eintracht Frankfurt and Sporting Lisbon of Portugal.
