Kozhikode: Her husband has approached the high court seeking anticipatory bail in the death of vlogger and album star Rifa Mehnu, who died in Dubai under mysterious circumstances. The court will hear the bail application of Rifa’s husband Mehnaz on May 20. A lookout notice was issued against Mehnaz. Police said he did not show up despite repeated requests.
A case has been registered against Mehnaz under the non-bailable section. Police said the man had informed airport officials not to leave the country. The body was taken out and postmortem was done following a complaint from the family that Mehnaz was tortured to death. Examination revealed some scars around Rifa’s neck.
