Rio is not only known as a singer who has released a number of singles. Rio is also a songwriter, producer, and even owns a music aggregator company called Nextart.id.
Rio’s career in the music industry began in 2000. Music became his choice because that is his strongest talent. This man who was born in the city of Jakarta is skilled at playing the guitar.
“Since childhood, he has had a passion for music, especially playing the guitar. “After that, he was given a voice, starting from liking to be in a band in 1997,” he said.
Rio has achieved a series of achievements, namely winning 1st place at the Archipelago Rock Music Festival in 2001. He also won the Candy Boom Music Festival in 2001, and was the Best Player at the 2001 All-Indonesian Student Music Festival.
Rejected by major labels
Achievements at various festivals do not necessarily make Rio’s career in the world of music smooth. He had to go through a long struggle to penetrate a number of major labels.

Rio often received rejection from labels, but this never made him give up. Rio is increasingly motivated to work even harder.
“Even the demo CD of my song was thrown away in the trash before my eyes,” he recalled.
Rio continued his career journey by becoming a regular music player in a number of cafes, even going to Singapore until 2016. Until finally starting several aggregator businesses in 2022, one of which is Nextart.id.

Not quite there, he also founded a music management and production house called CatnClaw in the same year. Rio is the executive producer.
Rio admitted that the experience of being rejected by a major label motivated him to be more independent in his work. By taking the initiative to establish his own label and management, he can be more comprehensive in expressing his ideas and works and become a facilitator for other musicians in the country.
“There are indeed many problems when studying this field. One of them was rejected several times by major labels. “So that made me set up my own label and management,” explained the man who also diligently writes content on the Rio Adiwardhana Official YouTube channel, IG account @rio.adiwardhana and Tiktok @rioadiwardhana.
Rio hopes that his works and initiatives in the music industry will receive a positive response from the public. He also wants to continue to contribute to the development and progress of other musicians in the country.
“The hope is that the Indonesian people will be known for their positive works. “And I create a lot of art for my artists, many of whom have joined,” said the man who has a hobby of sports and automotives. (RO/R-1)
