2023-06-28 14:05:37

Al-Marsad Newspaper: A member of the Iranian Parliament’s Health Committee, Humayun Najafabadi, revealed that “alcohol consumption in Iran is higher compared to countries that do not prohibit its consumption.”

“The consumption of homemade drinks in Iran is increasing day by day, and illegal alcohol consumption should also have conditions,” he told Didahban Iran.

Referring to the wave of consumption of handcrafted alcoholic beverages in the country, he explained that at the beginning of the “Covid-19” epidemic, when alcohol was hard to find, there were people selling methanol instead of ethanol at very high costs.

He added, there were also those who abused these alcoholic beverages, which caused the death of a number of citizens.
