1990. June. Florida again reported a case of human malaria ( P. vivax ) after 42 years without cases. He was presumably acquired through a mosquito bite in Gulf County.
1996. Two induced cases of infection by P. falciparum which occurred in Broward County in 1996 and were likely related to iatrogenic spread in a hospital setting where a patient was being treated for imported malaria infection.
