Quashawn Smith, a 21-year-old man, was killed yesterday in a shooting inside an apartment in Camden, New Jersey.
Another 20-year-old man was wounded in the reported shooting early Tuesday morning on North 7th Street, prosecutors confirmed. Responding to the emergency, police found two young men with gunshot wounds at the entrance to the apartment. It is not clear if they shot each other or if someone else participated in the crime.
Smith was pronounced dead less than an hour after both victims were taken to a nearby hospital, it reported. NBC News. The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been announced at this time.
Last week an adult woman and a 12-year-old girl were stabbed to death in their home in Newark, the most populous city in New Jersey. A man was detained as a suspect.
In May in Camden a young police officer died at the age of 27 after spending two months in hospital after being shot during a fight with a suspect.
Also that month, a Hispanic accused of killing three relatives and another man and wounding a girl in a January shooting in Ohio was also linked to a New Jersey homicide that happened a decade ago, Camden County prosecutors announced.
