Faced with “this alarming situation”, the president of consumers in the region, Ibrahima Diallo, stepped up to denounce “the uncontrolled increase in prices”. Traders, for their part, seem to be taking advantage of this situation to set prices as they wish, ignoring the difficulties faced by local populations, he noted to deplore this. Mr. Diallo firmly called on state authorities to intervene urgently to find solutions to this major concern of the population. According to him, it is imperative that concrete measures be taken to stabilize prices and guarantee fair access to basic necessities.
