The average monthly rent for a student accommodation has increased by almost 100 euros in 3 years. This year, this rent would reach 565 euros per month, including 95 euros in charges!
It is a study carried out by a student organization and a real estate expert which cites these figures.
On the Louvain-la-Neuve campus, the situation seems less serious, especially in the university rooms. But the president of the AGL (the General Assembly of Students), Adélie Pirlot, still notes an upward curve.
Still according to the AGL, some students are considering no longer going to school and commuting between the university and their home. Worse, some risk having to abandon their studies!
