A robbery took place in the center of Namur around 3 p.m. this Thursday afternoon. Information confirmed by the prosecution and on-site testimonies.
At the beginning of the afternoon, an attempted robbery took place at the Peters jeweler, rue de l’Ange. According to the Namur public prosecutor’s office, five suspects entered the jewelry store. Two fake weapons were allegedly displayed. The suspects allegedly wanted to lower the shutter of the jewelry store: “Apparently, no victims were injured. Four of the alleged perpetrators were arrested and deprived of their liberty around 2:40 p.m. in the center of Namur thanks to a rapid police response. The last suspect is on the run.”
The damage, which was in a bag, would have been recovered while the people arrested would have come from the Brussels Region. At least one of them is also known to the police. Suspects deprived of their liberty will be heard and investigative duties are still underway this Thursday evening.
