The deliberative pop band from Bekasi, Robin And The Poetry (RATP), launched its first EP entitled De Crescendo on April 5 under the auspices of stoodioID.
The word De Crescendo comes from a term in choir which means a gradual change in sound dynamics from loud to soft. That’s why this word was chosen as the title of this EP, because the sequence of tracks in it, namely Pasar Aurat, Kuy Duls, Maya Festival, Mendarah, and Pecah Suara have a mood from energetic to serene ending.
The sextet is fronted by Muhamad Raihan Aqil (vocals), Asep Muhammad Ainal Fauzi (guitar, backing vocals), Nur Hakim Ma’Rifatulloh (bass), Khairul Khusnul Zaman (guitar), Deddy Hermawan (keyboards), and Machfud Hidayat (drums). lined up Pecah Suara as the main single on the EP De Crescendo.
The reason is, Hakim said, Pecah Suara had an impressive production process and took quite a long time so that the song felt more mature.
“This song has a unique production process. In fact, we didn’t expect that the trivial theme we thought of at that time would become a song. Apart from that, Pecah Suara was also worked on for quite a long time compared to the other songs. “So we feel this song is very mature,” he explained.
Meanwhile, regarding the process of working on the EP, which took 2 years, it started with Deddy saying that he felt bored playing other people’s songs when all the personnel gathered.

“So at that time the children gathered together. Playing the guitar, singing songs we like together. Then, in the middle of that moment, Deddy said, ‘Instead of constantly playing other people’s songs, it’s better to write your own songs’. Since then, the children have started to be enthusiastic and intense about writing songs together. “As a result, this EP was born,” said Hakim.
In recording “De Crescendo”, RATP entrusted Yos Bonar Singgah (Goodenough) as the recording and mixing-mastering engineer. Meanwhile, for the work on the EP cover, Achmad Syahid Muthahhari assisted.
After the release of the EP De Crescendo which can be heard on all music streaming services, RATP plans to release a new single entitled Gersit in the near future. (RO/Z-1)
