This week begins the second edition of the national robotics competition

Countdown to the RoboChallenge BR by Mauá: national robotics competition! From the 26th to the 28th of May, visitors will be able to follow, free of charge, competitions between different categories of robots, with the participation of schools and universities from all over Brazil, on the campus of the Instituto Mauá de Tecnologia (IMT), in São Caetano do Sul, SP.

Anderson Harayashiki Moreira, event coordinator and professor of the Control and Automation Engineering course at IMT, recalls that the event is essential to promote interest, practice and knowledge of sciences related to Automation, Robotics, Electronics, Mechanics, Computing and Artificial intelligence.

From May 26th to 28th, Instituto Mauá de Tecnologia hosts the RoboChallenge BR by Mauá, with the participation of schools and universities from all over Brazil

The RoboChallenge BR by Mauá brings together engineering and high school students who have a common ambition, that is, to share knowledge and practice it through robots produced in the classroom. In the first edition, the event had the participation of approximately 500 competitors and more than 270 robots, distributed in teams from several states, such as São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and Paraná, it is expected to repeat the success in this year’s edition. .

“Undoubtedly, the meeting is also fundamental to promote and stimulate technical and scientific progress, which gives Brazil visibility to the world in the areas of Technology and Robotics”, highlights Harayashiki, who is also responsible for the Kimauánisso team at Instituto Mauá of Technology.

RoboChallenge BR Categories

The competition is divided into 14 categories: Combat Antweight (454 g); Combat Beetleweight (1.36 kg); Combat Fairyweight (150g); Sumo – 3 kg (Auto); Sumo – 3 kg (RC); LEGO® Sumo – 1 kg (Auto); LEGO® Junior Sumo – 1 kg (Auto); Sumo Mini – 500 g (Auto); Mini Sumo – 500 g (RC); Hockey – Mini (3.4 kg); Hockey – Pro (6.8 kg); Line Follower – Junior; Line Follower – Pro; and Line Tracker.
