New Delhi ∙ BCCI officials have hinted that Indian captain Rohit Sharma has ended his international Twenty20 career. News agency PTI reported that Rohit will no longer play Twenty20 matches and had earlier discussed with the selectors about his career in limited over cricket.
Rohit has been out of the format since the November 2022 Twenty20 World Cup semi-final defeat. The Indian skipper’s achievement in international Twenty20s is 3853 runs including 4 centuries from 148 matches. According to BCCI sources, Rohit is thinking of continuing in international cricket with less workload and will focus more on Test cricket than ODI matches.
India have 7 Test matches left till March 2024. Thirty-six-year-old Rohit’s main goal is to lead India to the title in the 2025 World Test Championship final.
