After three wins in a row, Rohrbach-Berg is in the middle of the fight for the lead in the league ahead of today’s top game in the state league against Donau Linz. Coach Christian Eisschiel’s team is only three points behind leaders Traun with one game less. With a success in Kleinmünchen, Rohrbach’s kickers could further increase the pressure on Oedt and Traun. “Last season, both games were very close, although Donau is a bit stronger at home. We can’t allow ourselves a weak phase and have to be disciplined,” says Eisschiel. In any case, the confidence is good after the latest results: “We are taking small steps in the right direction week after week, especially in our behavior against the ball. But every game is close, the league is very balanced.”
In the North District League, promoted team Haslach is in fourth place despite their recent 0-1 defeat in Hofkirchen. On Sunday the Haslach team will play second-placed Gallneukirchen in front of their home crowd. “We are expecting an incredibly strong opponent who will be difficult to play against. Since we are playing at home on our facility, the “Copa Haslana”, we of course want to take something away and show our loyal fans a great game,” says Haslach’s sporting director David Aichberger. He is very happy with the start: “We feel very comfortable in the new league.”
The second top game takes place in Julbach: the third-placed team hosts the fifth-placed Lembach. In the Upper Austrian League, promoted team Bad Leonfelden suffered their first defeat last weekend with a 3-1 defeat against Bad Schallerbach. Tomorrow the Lenz team will try to get back to winning ways at SPG Friedburg/Pöndorf.
