According to the State Health Insurance Fund, there are exceptions when patients have to pay for the recording of tests on a medium.

“You do not have to pay for the recording of magnetic resonance imaging or other radiological examinations (ultrasound, lung x-ray, mammography, computer tomography, etc.) in a medical institution, if: you are covered by compulsory health insurance, a doctor sends you to perform the examination – you have a referral, if the doctor who issued it in the referral indicates that he must be provided with a copy of the examination image, if you perform the examination specified in the referral in a medical institution (both public and private) that has a contract with the health insurance fund for its performance.

If all these conditions are met, then the doctor who performed the examination must provide the referring doctor with a description of the examination together with a copy of the image and make a record confirming it in the patient’s health history (form No. 025/a) without any additional fees,” VLK informs.

When questions arise, the medical institution should inform regarding the possibility of receiving services paid by the health insurance fund.
