Rolls-Royce announced on Tuesday that it broke its 118-year record for car sales. The British manufacturer acquired in 1998 by BMW thus sold 6,021 units in 2022, or 8% more than in 2021. The case of the brand with the “spirit of ecstasy” (name of the emblematic statuette of Rolls-Royce ) is not isolated. Bentley, Bugatti, Ferrari, Lamborghini also had a record year, following an extraordinary 2021 vintage. Despite the difficulties in supplying spare parts, the energy crisis and inflation, 2022 will have been an exceptional year for the niche luxury car sector. The rise in vehicle and fuel prices is far from having discouraged buyers, Americans in the lead.
