That’s it, Baldur’s Gate 3 is officially out on PC. While waiting for the PS5 version expected on September 6, players have already made Larian Studios’ title a success. The streams are as numerous as they are different, and they are hundreds of thousands exploring the vast world to accomplish their quests.
Baldur’s Gate 3: a thunderous start for Larian’s RPG

Almost obligatory passage of Western role-playing games, romances are the subject of many discussions: with which characters to maintain a relationship, how to achieve it, how many exist and do they develop between non-playable characters are all questions players ask.
Romances in Baldur’s Gate 3: some limits imposed by Larian
We will not reveal anything about the first two questions but on the other hand, we have the answer to the third and more generally, we know the limits of the system. Larian knew players would be wondering about this, so he provided some information just before release. Besides the fact that we can put aside this aspect, end a relationship at any time, Larian therefore indicated three main limits about romances. They mainly concern the original charactersi.e. those that were pre-designed by Larian.
By launching his game, the player can choose one of these characters, or create and customize his own. Well know that if you choose the second option, none of the original characters, who became NPCs by force of circumstance, will be able to romance another. So forget the idea of Shadowheart forming a relationship with Astarion if they’re just your companions. It is also not possible play as an original character and romance another player’s original character.
However, an origin character can develop a romantic relationship with another origin character, on the condition that one of the two has been chosen by the player at the start of the game. If that seems complicated to you, don’t panic, all you have to do is launch Baldur’s Gate 3 for everything to make sense. Some players already regret these limitations, but it is a choice made by Larian to avoid creating grotesque situations or having to write thousands of lines of additional dialogue in a title that already shows immense generosity on that side.
