Real Valladolid, a club in the second division of Spanish football chaired by Brazilian Ronaldo Nazario, has informed former Canarinha international Julio Baptista that it is dispensing with his services and has appointed Álvaro Rubio as the new coach of Real Valladolid Promesas, following criticism poured by the Brazilian towards the management of the club and the Uruguayan Paulo Pezzolano, coach of the first team.

The club has decided to dismiss the Brazilian to leave the controls to Rubio, the former Blanquivioleta captain, who has been part of the first team’s coaching staff since 2017, as confirmed by the entity through its website.
The Brazilian coach arrived at Real Valladolid in the summer of 2019 to take over the reins of Juvenil B. Subsequently, he coached Juvenil A in the Honor Division to, in the 2021/22 season, debut with the reserve team, while in this third campaign , continued to lead Promesas during the first 10 days.
In total, the coach has coached almost 150 games in the Valladolid youth academy and the club wanted to thank him and his technical team for their performance as a Blanquivioletas, while wishing them “the best of luck in their new personal and professional stages.”
