Rookie Ngoc Huyen comes back after Thuong on a sunny day

When taking on the role of Van Van in Thuong on a sunny day, Nguyen Ngoc Huyen is a rookie. She also did not study acting, but was a design student at the University of Industrial Fine Arts. With her first television role in her career, Ngoc Huyen performed well and was well received by the audience.

Ngoc Huyen admits that she is lucky to have the advantage of appearance, confidence, and assumes the character is also the right age, innocent personality, and cheerful. But besides that is the effort, learning from the forebears, brothers and sisters in the profession.

“At first, I felt that my acting ability was not really good due to my lack of experience. I was always aware of constantly improving myself in all aspects, especially acting. I followed dramas. I was also taught by director Bui Tien Huy and everyone in the crew to ‘shape’ a Van Van, look at the Vietnamese picture, look at the way veteran actors and actresses act to take it as a lesson for me. that the audience loves.”

Celebrating the debut role

Participating in a long-term film project is an unforgettable experience with many memories. For me, the team is like a family. “Mother” Thanh Quy, Ms. Lan Phuong, Ms. Huyen Lizzie… all gave me valuable advice. Before each scene, everyone always discussed and agreed to combine and interact smoothly.

In the movie, my character and Doan Quoc Dam’s character are a couple. I am grateful to Mr. Dam for always patiently, wholeheartedly instructing me to improve and get better every day. At that time, Mr. Dam’s filming schedule was very busy. In addition to the role of Dong Phong, he also played the role of Men (the film Pho in the village), the role of Tuan (the movie Dou Tri) and worked at the Hanoi Drama Theater. Sometimes I feel he is very pressured, tired. But when working, he is always serious and “burns” to his best. That gives me great motivation and inspiration to work.

When acting, I thought and tried to best express the character. If you ask me if there is anything else that makes me regret about Van Van, the answer is probably no. But Van Van has been, is and will be a mirror for me to look at myself, see where I have performed well or not well. Through that, I learned from experience and changed it appropriately for future roles.

The influence of praise and criticism is opposite

To be honest, I didn’t feel too much pressure or stress the first time I participated in a primetime movie. I am always excited about comments from the audience about the role of Van Van, whether it is a compliment or a criticism. I read comments and suggestions to listen, refine and improve myself. I think the audience is an important factor, contributing to the success of each actor’s career. Audience comments mean they care about their characters. If you’re down because of negative comments, it’s not mystical gem that everyone knew.

Thoughts on the younger generation of actors

I find that the current generation of young actors has a strong point of being mentally fit, full of energy and enthusiasm. And we are often referred to as the “new breeze” of the screen. The difficulty, in my opinion, lies mainly in the acting ability.

When filming with famous uncles and aunts, of course we will be “overwhelmed” because the actors are too skillful and creative. Young people are still young and flawed, and have not encountered many obstacles. However, it is also a motivation and an opportunity for us to try and develop more. Overcoming the initial “overwhelming”, I learned a lot from the seniors. That is a professional way of working, a serious attitude to the profession, always studying the script carefully, taking care of the character from appearance to each line, from which to have his own criticisms and opinions and not be passive. .

What will happen after Van Van?

Over a year of living in the role of Van Van, I have gained valuable experience, matured and become more solid. I think the first role is not exactly a shadow that is difficult to overcome. I am always looking forward to new opportunities. It is not easy to answer the question “What kind of role would Ngoc Huyen want to play next?”. Because perhaps I have the mentality of a young person, I am not picky about the character model. My biggest goal right now is for the role to be remembered by the audience. In the long run, of course, every actor wants to show a diverse, flexible, and constantly changing image.

In 2023, Ngoc Huyen promises to come back fresher than Van Van “three dots”. Hopefully the girl born in the year of the Rabbit will have a lot of health and energy to work and burn. Let’s all wait together!

Direction

I have just graduated from the University of Industrial Fine Arts and will continue to dream of graphic design, along with acting and fashion activities. Before filming, I used to work as a photo model and loved both fields.

The next Ngoc Huyen's war
She belongs to the generation Z actors of the drama segment.

I know it’s harder and more challenging to multi-task. I have to consider, calculate, arrange a reasonable time for everything to go smoothly and efficiently. I think I’m young, so I should live with passion and try my best so that I won’t regret it later.

Perspectives on success and failure

For me, success and failure have two sides. Because after every failure, you will draw your own lessons. Or from the failure of others, you gain more experience to succeed.

Success can sometimes make you rest on your laurels, while failure can make you cringe. Therefore, whether we succeed or fail, it is the will that guides and determines our future. I myself was never complacent, or lived forever in the old glory. I think everyone needs to have “ambition” as new destinations and milestones to conquer.

Nguyen Ngoc Huyen, born in 1999, was noticed after appearing in the main character line of the movie Thuong on a sunny day. Currently, she is one of the actor promising TV show, next to Ngoc Anh, Tran Van (The street in the village), Anh Dao (The way to the flower land), Nguyen Hoang Ngoc Huyen (Happy Garage), Quynh Luong (Small way to life, Don’t make mom angry) , Anh Phuong (Are you a man), Long Hoang (Small way to life), Thai Vu (Journey to justice)…
