Sebastian Oh scored on the power play with 54 seconds left in overtime to give the Carolina Hurricanes a 5-4 win over the Los Angeles Kings at PNC Arena.

The Hurricanes took a 1-0 lead at 1:27 of the first period. Andrei Svechnikov delivered a short backhand snap to Burns, who advanced to the right circle before beating Copley with a wrist shot to the side of the mitt.

Kempe tied the game 1-1 at 1:51 of the second period. Andersen stopped Kopitar by spearing the puck at the top of his half circle, but the Kings captain picked it up behind the net before spotting Kempe with a perfect pass.

Kevin Fiala gave Los Angeles a 2-1 lead at 11:34, before Kempe’s second goal at 14:21 made it 3-1.

The Kings increased their lead to 4-1 on the power play at 15:21. Jaret Anderson-Dolan quickly fed Kopitar on a pass from Drew Doughtyand the captain scored his 16th goal of the season from the front of the net.

Capitals 4, Blue Jackets 3 (P)

Evgeny Kuznetsov scored just 26 seconds into overtime and the Washington Capitals defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-3 at Nationwide Arena on Tuesday.

Kuznetsov hit the target with a wrist shot from the right circle.

Johnny Gaudreau had tied the Blue Jackets 3-3 at 12:44 of the third period, scoring his 14th goal with a wrist shot following a long overhead pass from Gavin Bayreuther.

Trevor van Riemsdyk scored two goals, a career high, and Charlie Lindgren stopped 31 shots for the Capitals (27-20-6), which ended a three-game losing streak on the road. The Capitals are now on leave until they face the Boston Bruins on Feb. 11.

Joonas Korpisalo made 29 saves for the Blue Jackets (15-32-4), who suffered a third straight loss. Columbus won’t play again until Feb. 10 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Garnet Hathaway gave the Capitals the lead at 5:06 of the first period, redirecting a shot from Lars Eller.

Van Riemsdyk doubled that lead at 14:28 with a shot through traffic from the top of the right circle. It was his first goal in 20 games.

Andrew Banks cut the lead to 2-1 twelve seconds later with a wrist shot from the blue line.

Van Riemsdyk did it again at 8:26 of the second period and made it 3-1. He had his first multi-goal game in 509 NHL career games. Kuznetsov circled the area with the puck before handing it back to van Riemsdyk, who fired a one-timer. He has six goals this season.

Eric Robinson cut the deficit to 3-2 at 11:03 to end an 18-game scoreless streak.

Senators 5, Canadians 4

Brady Tkachuk broke the tie 1:18 remaining in the third period and the Ottawa Senators added to the curse of the Montreal Canadiens’ retro blue jersey this season, winning 5-4 at the Bell Centre.
