Rowe-Hally combined for a world record of two runs

Chennai: Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are Indian batsmen who have created wonders in world cricket. But both of them have not been able to find rhythm in the batting in the ODI series against Australia. However, they have a world record in front of them in today’s ODI. The record of the fastest 5000 run partnership in ODI cricket is waiting for both of them by two runs.

So far, India’s super batsmen have scored 4998 runs from 85 innings at an average of 62.47. He has 18 century partnerships and 15 half-century partnerships.

West Indies’ Gordon Greenidge-Desmond Haynes partnership currently holds the record for the fastest to 5000 runs. This achievement was from 97 innings.

Australian players Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden completed 5000 runs in 104 innings and Sri Lankan players Thilakaratne Dilshan and Kumar Sangakkara completed 5000 runs in 105 innings.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are the only batting partnerships to have crossed 4000 runs with an average above 60. Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly have the highest runs partnership in world cricket. 8227 runs were scored from the partnerships of both of them. The Kohli-Rohit partnership is at the eighth position in this list.

The winners of the India-Australia series will be decided in the third ODI at Chepauk, Chennai on Wednesday. While India won the first match of the series, the Aussies came back strongly in the second match. Batting first in the third ODI, Australia were bowled out for 269 runs in 49 overs. Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets each for India.
