Queen Silvia opened the first Childhood House in Hesse today on Children’s Rights Day in Frankfurt. The contact point for abused children is on the campus of the university hospital. Last year her daughter Madeleine traveled to Frankfurt to build the house.
“Children are not just the adults of the future – they are our here and now,” said Queen Silvia in her speech. “May this house be a place of hope and protection for all children.”

The victims of war and tyranny were remembered with a memorial hour in the German Bundestag this Sunday (November 19th). The commemorative speech for this year’s Remembrance Day was given by Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden.
The reason for Victoria’s visit: One of the themes of Remembrance Day 2023 is German-Swedish history. In her speech, which Victoria gave in German, she discussed, among other things, the strong relations between Germany and Sweden. These are “diverse and go back a long way. Victoria of Sweden exudes royal splendor on her visit to Germany. On the first day of her three-day trip, the Crown Princess visited Hesse. As part of the “German-Swedish Business Summit” she stopped at a Swedish medical technology company in Frankfurt. There she got up close and personal with the latest developments for hospitals and healthcare facilities.
There was great joy when the princess traveled to Wiesbaden. Numerous fans wanted to get a glimpse of the royal visit and came with flags and flowers to greet the 46-year-old before her meeting with Prime Minister Boris Rhein in front of the Hesse State Chancellery.
In the evening things got glamorous for Crown Princess: Victoria of Sweden took part in the award ceremony of the 20th Swedish Business Awards. If the evening lasts longer, that wouldn’t be a problem, because the princess can sleep in on Saturday and there are no further press events.
On Sunday we will continue to Berlin, where Victoria of Sweden will take part in a memorial ceremony on Remembrance Day together with Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
