Rumor: The new name that will have the FIFA franchise is filtered

We bring you an interesting report related to one of the most outstanding franchises in the industry. We are talking in this case regarding FIFA.

This time, we get a report from Jeff Grubb in his programa Giant Bomb Grubbsnax (via VGC), where it is stated that FIFA would be renamed EA Sports Football Club in the future. In this way, the franchise would be known as EA Sports FC.

This fits with trademarks previously registered by EA and would make sense following FIFA started demanding more than double their previous fee to use their name. In fact, from EA they have already commented that they want to grow the franchise and that the FIFA license is not helping them.

The current agreement between FIFA and EA will expire following the World Cup of Qatar in November, so we will have to be attentive to more details. What do you think? If you are interested, you can take a look at our full coverage of the franchise here.
