His colleagues did not take long to denounce the harassment and violent threats that threaten their integrity on social networks. In fact, the organization ‘SOS Médicos SSO’, which defends the doctors’ rights rural, shared the complaint.
“The SSO medical staff of Zapatoca, Santander, rejects any act of violence against us. “We have been harassed and threatened by false emails that arrive directly to the emergency department, constantly, since January 15, 2024, where they claim to hurt us and have knowledge of personal information from the medical report,” says the complaint published in the social network X, for the Sky profile.
Furthermore, the doctors, in their publication, announce that they have already reported these events to the Attorney General’s Office, the Police Inspection and the Santander Health Secretariat. Unfortunately, none of the entities, according to the complaint, have commented on this fact, nor have they protected the victims from the threats.
Likewise, health personnel, victims of these threats and violent acts, indicated that they will suspend their activities in Zapatoca, in view of the latest events in which a colleague was seriously injured.
“We do not have 24-hour surveillance, only during the daytime, and permanent accompaniment cannot be provided during night shifts by the police authorities,” the complaint argues.
