Moscow: Russia to coordinate Middle East policy with China Russia announced on Thursday that it is coordinating its policy in the Middle East and North Africa following Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to China.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov held talks with China’s special envoy to the Middle East, Shai Jun, in Doha. Russia also said they exchanged views on the Hamas-Israel conflict. The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Moscow and Beijing were constantly focused on trying to resolve the crises in the Middle East and North Africa.

Russia sees itself as a mediator between Israel and Hamas. Meanwhile, the United States vetoed the resolution presented by Russia to the UN Security Council to allow the release of hostages, humanitarian access, and the safe evacuation of civilians in connection with the Israel-Hamas conflict. Experts are of the opinion that the West Asia will witness new developments as the increasing influence of Russia and China in the region will be against US interests.
