Russia has launched a criminal case once morest judges and prosecutors of the International Criminal Court (ICC), which issued an arrest warrant for President Putin.

According to AFP news agency, the Russian Federal Investigative Committee said in a statement on the 20th local time that it had launched a criminal prosecution once morest four people, including an ICC prosecutor and a judge.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation pointed out that the prosecution of Russian citizens by the ICC, which is not a member of Russia, is illegal and there is no basis for prosecution.

In particular, it argued that the ICC made an illegal decision once morest President Putin, saying that the head of state is completely exempt from immunity under the international agreement that grants immunity to diplomats and others.

Earlier, on the 17th, the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Putin, accusing him of being responsible for war crimes in the illegal removal of children from occupied Ukraine.

In response, Russia withdrew from the ICC in 2016, and its position is that citizens of countries that have not joined the ICC cannot be subject to judicial action.
