Inflation in Russia for the period from December 5 to December 11 accelerated to 0.2% following 0.12% a week earlier. Prices for eggs accelerated their growth slightly, while prices for cucumbers slowed down, but only slightly.

As follows from Rosstat data published on December 13, over the week eggs rose in price by 4.6% following 4.2%. This is the highest indicator among products, if we exclude fruits and vegetables, which traditionally lead in price increases. Cucumbers this time added 9.6%, tomatoes – only 0.3%.

In the category of non-food products, prices did not change significantly. Among the services, air tickets for domestic flights have increased in price the most – by 6% over the week.

Annual inflation continued to roll back by hundredths of a percent. According to the Ministry of Economic Development, for the specified period it amounted to 7.47%.

Previously, the Russian government decided to zero customs duties on the import of chicken eggs from January 1 to June 30, 2024, in order to stabilize prices for the product on the domestic market.
