Russia says it has confirmed that Prigozhin died in the plane crash

MOSCOW (AP) — The Russian Investigative Commission confirmed Sunday that Yevgeny Prigozhin, owner of the Wagner Group military company, was killed in a plane crash.

In a statement, the commission said that, following forensic examinations, the 10 bodies recovered at the crash site had been identified, and their identities “match the list” of passengers.

This week, Russia’s civil aviation authority said Prigozhin, along with some of his top lieutenants, was on the list of people aboard the plane that crashed on Wednesday.
