4:41 am: Reports of RT journalists on Twitter criticized

The SNJ (National Union of Journalists), SNJ-CGT and the CFDT Journalists castigate the “double penalty for journalists from RT France”. These unions have indeed criticized on Friday the reporting by Twitter of personal accounts of these journalists, decked out with the mention “Media affiliated with Russia”.

According to these organizations, this report also affects former journalists from RT France. The persons concerned have no recourse to “oppose it or even obtain an explanation from Twitter”. “While RT France journalists are already the target of death threats and insults, this authoritative label by Twitter designates them even more distinctly and puts them in greater danger”.

According to Twitter, in particular state-affiliated media can be reported. These media, “their editors and/or experienced journalists (…) can appeal the decision”. A former RT France reporter, Jonathan Moadab, who had been reported by Twitter, reported in a tweet on March 3 that he had obtained the deletion of this mention, following an intervention by the Secretary of State for Digital, Cédric O.
