On the night of February 2 and early morning of February 3, the Russian army shelled the warehouse area of a commercial center in the city of Kherson, southern Ukraine.

The shelling caused this warehouse to explode and burn violently. According to Ukraine’s Emergencies Service, the warehouse in Kherson is a place to store chemicals, explosives and fireworks. As a result, the fire brigade encountered many difficulties in extinguishing the fire.

“Russian artillery shells hit a warehouse of chemicals and the fire broke out violently after hitting an area containing explosives and fireworks. The fire destroyed eight vehicles and a warehouse area about approx. 600m2”, the notice of the Emergency Situation Service of Ukraine reads.

In addition, the Russian army also conducted shelling of a two-story building in the city of Kherson. The rapid response force was immediately on the scene to handle the incident. Local authorities confirmed that in the past 24 hours, at least two people were killed and nine others injured after Russian raids on a strategic city in southern Ukraine.

Russian troops withdrew from the strategic southern city of Kherson on November 9 to preserve their forces after the supply route for pro-Moscow troops in the city was blocked by Ukraine. However, after withdrawing, the Russian army continued to conduct fire raids on the positions of Ukrainian forces in Kherson.
