“24 is going to be a different year than 2023, and we have to do that.”

[LONDON]On December 26, General of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valery Zarzhny held a press conference that lasted approximately 30 minutes.

“We have found 90% of the solutions to act more effectively and save more people. Changes in tactics brought about by weapons development will make 2024 a different year than 2023. Must”

With these words, he expressed his determination to fight through the stalled war in Ukraine.

This is the first press conference for General Zarzhini since the invasion of Russia began in February 2022.

“The enemy is catching up with our forces. Marinka, a fiercely fought area in eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk Oblast, has held out for nearly two years, but the enemy has destroyed street by street and house by house. Today, our forces remain in the northern part of the town, defending it. We are preparing a line, but this village is as good as no longer existing.”

Speaking thus, General Zarzini revealed the difficult situation.

“Our military will protect Audiiuka to the best of our ability, but if we are not strong enough to protect it, it is more important to save the lives of our soldiers. As long as we have the strength to do so, we will defend our territory. But if that is not enough, it is better to save our soldiers.”

Not only Bakhmut, the battleground site in the Donetsk region, but also Audiivka and Marinka are falling into ruins, just like Grozny, the capital of Russia’s Chechen Republic. Commander-in-Chief Zarzhini said, “In a few months, Audiiuka may become like Bahmut. It is difficult to predict how many enemy losses will be needed to stop the invasion. We will continue to increase losses until the enemy gives up.” We need to continue.”
