Russia’s Black Sea Fleet headquarters was attacked by a missile on the 22nd. Ukraine claimed that 34 people were killed, including Black Sea Fleet Commander Viktor Sokolov. Russian state media first broadcast footage of Sokolov appearing at a defense meeting on the 26th, and the military news media Zvezda published footage of the interview on the 27th to refute the propaganda of Ukrainian special forces.

The Guardian reported that in new images released by Russian news media, Sokolov participated in an awards event for the Black Sea Fleet football team. A reporter present pointed out to him that today’s awards ceremony should have been held a few days ago, but was canceled due to known reasons, and asked him to comment.

The Guardian pointed out that the “known cause” mentioned by this reporter may be referring to the missile attack in Ukraine. Sokolov replied that the previous award ceremony was canceled “just because we were very busy and had to postpone it for a few days.”

The reporter then asked Sokolov if he could say a few words to the residents of Sevanborg about what happened to reassure them. Sokolov replied, “Nothing happened, life continues, and the Black Sea Fleet completed the tasks preset by the commanders.”

RussianFilmIt seems that the Ukrainian special forces retracted the statement that Sokolov was dead, and wrote on the social media “Paper Plane”, “Now that the Russians are forced to urgently release a response that Sokolov is allegedly alive, our troops are clarifying Information”.
