The head of the Central Election Commission published the final results of the presidential election in Russia, highlighting that more than 76 million people voted for Vladimir Putin

A total of 76,277,708 voters voted for Vladimir Putin, reported, on Thursday (21), Ella Pamfilova, president of the Central Election Commission of Russia.

“Now about the general voting results: 76,277,708 voters voted for Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin,” Pamfilova said at a commission meeting.

“3,768,470 voters voted for Nikolai Mikhailovich Kharitonov, or 4.31%, for Vladislav Andreevich Davankov – 3,362,484, or 3.85%, and for Leonid Eduardovich Slutsky – 2,797,629, or 3.2%”, he detailed Pamfilova.

She explained that voter turnout was 77.44%. “In absolute terms, 87,576,075 voters participated in the election.

This indicator had never been seen before in modern Russian history,” he noted. At the same time, “a total of 388,791 voters participated in voting abroad.

In 2018, there were more, 484,275 voters, we know why”, declared the head of the Central Electoral Commission, adding that this year 295 polling stations were organized abroad, fewer than in 2018, when there were 401 polling stations.

The Central Election Commission noted that the highest percentage of unused (null) ballots occurred where there are a large number of Russian emigrants who left the country in the last two years and where there were fewer votes in favor of Putin, such as in Poland.

According to Ella Panfilova, “mercenaries, who are now abroad and those who are here”, tried to gain access, by enticing Russian citizens to give up their personal account data in the electronic system of Russian public services, “to destroy it inside”, but that the integrity of the election video surveillance system was preserved.

“All this was supposed to be transferred to IT super-experts in the West, a group of prepared people were there, and there were serious cyber attacks, image replacement and so on,” she continued, adding that “we took action, we had to close some of the accounts, sending them to public surveillance centers, but we kept the entire video election monitoring system, all the recordings.”

The presidential election in Russia was held from March 15 to 17. After processing 100% of the ballots, current President Putin collected 87.28% of the votes.
