Russian goalkeeper of the New York Rangers Igor Shesterkin won his 100th victory in the NHL regular championship in a match against the Buffalo Sabers (5:1). About it reports league press service.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper in the last match reflected 24 out of 25 shots on his own goal and brought the team a victory, which became the Russian’s 100th anniversary in the NHL. He reached that mark in 159 games, the seventh-most in league history. In addition, this is the best achievement by a goalie in the history of the New York Rangers club.
Only Bill Durnan (139), Michel Larocque (148), Frank Brimsek (150), Bob Frose (155), Chris Osgood and Tiny Thompson (both 158) managed to reach 100 victories in the NHL faster than Shesterkin. It is worth noting that all of the above hockey players played in the 20th century.
In addition, Shesterkin became the eighth representative of Russia who was able to reach the 100-win mark in the NHL.
