The Russian government is increasing purchases of iPhones from US manufacturer Apple despite allegations of espionage. From January to September, four times as many of the coveted cell phones were purchased as in the same period last year, the newspaper “Vedomosti” reported on Monday. In June 2023, the Russian secret service FSB accused its arch-rival USA of having installed sophisticated surveillance software on the iPhones with the aim of tracking down the owners.
