The Russian Government has announced on Monday the signing of a contract with a special forces unit headed by the Chechen leader, Ramzan Kadirov, within the framework of his effort to organize the activities of the various groups fighting in Ukraine.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has indicated in a message on Telegram that the contract has been signed with the Ajmat special forces and has detailed that it “defines the legal regulation and activities of the Ajmat volunteer units in the area of the special military operation.” .
The ‘number two’ of the Russian Army General Staff, Alexei Kim, stressed that “a relatively large number of units, volunteer detachments and other military formations participate in the special military operation together with units of the Armed Forces.”
“In order to increase the effectiveness of the use of volunteer units under the leadership of Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin and the Ministry of Defense, an order was issued determining the procedures for the activities of all volunteer units,” he explained.

For his part, the commander of the Ajmat special forces, Apti Alaudinov, stressed that this detachment “was formed under the leadership of Kadirov” and specified that “it has prepared and sent tens of thousands of volunteers to the front lines during the last 15 months”.
