An 82-year-old Russian military pensioner was deported from Latvia, who was recognized in the republic as a “threat to national security.” The man was accepted in the Pskov region, but now he decided to head to Kaliningrad. On Saturday, January 13, he announced this in his telegram channels Governor of the Pskov region Mikhail Vedernikov.
“After spending the night and resting from the road in Pskov, Boris Grigoryevich Katkov, deported from Latvia, decided to go further to Kaliningrad. He worked there for many years and wants to return. <...> Anton Alikhanov assured that in Kaliningrad everything will be ready for the meeting and accommodation of Boris Grigorievich, all necessary assistance will be provided and maximum attention will be paid,” wrote the head of the region.
The elderly man is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren in Latvia. The republican authorities “sentenced” him to deportation from the country with an indefinite ban on return.
