Danish intelligence adds its voice to the warnings, highlighting a more serious threat than expected from Russian military action against NATO countries. Rob Bauer, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, also emphasizes the urgency of adaptation to a new and unpredictable era. This week, Denmark, through its intelligence services, is warning of a likely intensification of Russian pressure on NATO countries, with the possibility of a concentration of Russian troops at the borders of member nations.

War in Ukraine: here is the reason why Zelensky intends to remove the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian armed forces

In a statement to the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, the Danish Defense Minister broadened these fears, going beyond the assessments of his German and Estonian counterparts. He said a Russian attack on NATO could occur within three to five years, calling into question NATO’s Article 5 which states that an attack on one member country is an attack on all. This new information modifies NATO’s previous assessments.

While the West has been reluctant to provide new aid to Ukraine, Russia has revitalized its defense industry and sourced weapons and munitions from countries such as Iran and North Korea. The Danish Defense Minister stresses the urgency of taking this situation seriously, noting that Russia’s capacity to produce military equipment has significantly increased, which could allow it to initiate attacks sooner than expected in terms of military capacity.
